Kitchen renovations
A kitchen that suits how your household actually cooks and gathers.
Kitchens involve more trades in less space than almost any other room. The result depends on getting layout, services, and cabinetry right before anything is installed.

Scope of work
- Demolition and removal of existing cabinetry, finishes, and fixtures
- Layout changes, including relocating walls or openings where structure allows
- Plumbing, electrical, gas, and ventilation work by licensed trades
- Cabinetry and millwork installation, including panels and integrated appliances
- Countertops, backsplash, tiling, and flooring
- Lighting, painting, hardware, and final adjustments
Planning considerations
- How the space is used day to day, and where the friction is now
- What the existing structure and services allow without major rework
- Appliance selections early, because they drive cabinetry and services
- Cabinetry and stone lead times, which usually set the schedule
- Kitchen downtime and temporary cooking arrangements
- Finish decisions confirmed before ordering to avoid change costs
Measure once the walls are open
Cabinetry and stone are templated against built conditions, not drawings alone. Building that step into the schedule avoids costly adjustments later.
Services drive the layout
Moving a sink, range, or hood affects plumbing, venting, and sometimes structure. We confirm what is feasible before the design is locked in.
How Balwind coordinates the work.
We sequence demolition, rough-in, inspection, cabinetry, templating, stone, and finishing so trades are not waiting on one another, and we tell you which decisions are needed and when.
We can walk you through examples of work at a similar scope, and put you in touch with references, during your initial conversation. You can also see the standard we build to in our design concepts.
Common questions.
How long will we be without a kitchen?
It varies with scope and lead times. We give you an expected window for your project and flag anything that could extend it.
Can we supply our own cabinetry or appliances?
Yes. We coordinate delivery and installation around the schedule; lead times and responsibility for damaged or missing items are discussed up front.
Do kitchen renovations need a permit?
It depends on the municipality and whether structure, plumbing, or electrical is changing. We identify what your project requires early.
